- 500 gms Chicken with bones preferred. I've used leg piece, you can use boneless chicken also
- 2 pcs Onions thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup Coriander leaves
- 1/4 cup Mint leaves
- 4-6 pcs Green Chilles
- 4 tbsp Mash Daal
- 2 tbsp Moong Daal
- 2 tbsp Masoor Daal
- 1/2 Cup Oil
- 2 pcs Cinnamon
- 3 pcs Cloves
- 9 pcs Pepper Corns
- 2&1/2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 2-3 tsp salt Total
- 1&1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- 3 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1&1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
- 1 tbsp Cumin Powder
- 5 tbsp Ghee
- 1/2 cup Oats Instant/Quick cook Oats
- 3-4 cups Water You can use 3-4 cups homemade chicken broth
- 2 pcs Chicken Stock Cube
- 1/4 cup Fried Onions for garnishing
- 2 tbsp Chopped Cilantro/Coriander for garnishing
- 1/4 cup Cashew fried
Wash & Soak all lentils/daal . Keep aside.
Fry sliced onions until golden brown & divide in two parts. Crush half part & keep half aside.
Make a paste of coriander, mint & green chillies.
Heat oil in a pan add whole spices, ginger & garlic paste, red chilli, half quantity of salt, garam masala & turmeric. Fry for 1min.
Add chicken & yoghurt. Sauté .
Add crushed fried onions & green chilli paste. Sauté
Add 1/2cup water, cover & cook until chicken is tender.
Shred the chicken & add back into the masala.
Add chicken stock .
Add soaked daal. Cover & cook in low flame for 15min. Stir in between.
Add oats, coriander, cumin powder & lemon juice. Add remaining salt.
Add ghee & mix well
Garnish with chopped coriander, lemon, fried onions & fried cashews
Serve hot!!
- After adding Lentils, cover and cook on low flame.
- Keep stirring in between to avoid sticking to the bottom of the pan.
- Instant pot could be used for minimize the cooking time.
