Aalo mutton Khorma

It’s a one pot mutton curry cooked in a aromatic sauce. The tender meat and potato chunks cooked in this rich and flavorful gravy is a favourite among curry lovers .

Ingredients
  

For Masala

  • 1/2 cup Chopped Coriander & Mint leaves
  • 3 Green Chilies
  • 2&1/2 tbsp Dry roasted Desiccated coconut
  • 8-10 cashew
  • 1 tbsp yoghurt

For Grvay

  • 500 gm Mutton with bones
  • 2 medium size onion sliced
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 4 Green Cardamom
  • 2 1inch Cinnamon Stick
  • 1/2 tsp Caraway Seed(Shahjeera)
  • 2&1/2 tbsp Ginger & Garlic Paste
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chilly Powder
  • 1/4 cup Whisked Thick Yogurt Full Fat
  • 1&1/2 cup water
  • 2 medium sized potato
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder

Instructions
 

For masala

  • In a food processor or grinder add all the ingredients mentioned above for masala. Make a fine paste. Add water if needed. Keep aside.

For Gravy

  • In a heavy bottom pan or pressure cooker add oil , sliced onion and fry this onion turns slightly brown.
  • Add dry spices and fry for 1min.
  • Now add in washed mutton and ginger garlic paste.
    Cook on high flame for 5 minutes.
  • Add salt, turmeric and red chili powder.
    Cook for 1 minute.
  • Add the prepared masala paste and water.
    Cover and cook for 20-25 minutes.
  • Mean while cut the potato into cubes and heat oil in a pan.
    Fry the potato for 3-4 minutes. Keep aside.
  • Now check the meat, make sure the meat is cooked 90% and add Fried potato.
    Cover and cook until meat and potatoes are tender & cooked completely.
  • Check for salt, add water is needed.
    Add garam masala powder and lemon juice.
    Serve hot with rice or chapati.
