Chicken Matar pulao

Ingredients
  

For Chicken marinade

  • 4-5 Chicken thighs 
  • 2 tbsp thick full fat whisked yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Ginger & Garlic Paste
  • 1&1/2 tbsp  chicken tikka masala
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Green Cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chili Powder

For Pulao

  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1&1/2 cup  basmati rice
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 1 bay leaf tej patta
  • 4 cloves loung
  • 2 Green Cardamom hari ilaichi
  • 1 Black Cardamom badi ilaichi
  • 2 Cinnamon Stick dalchini
  • 1 tsp Caraway Seed Shahjeera
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander & Mint leaves
  • 1 tbsp Ginger & Garlic Paste
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp Chicken Tikka Masala
  • hot water to cook rice
  • 1/2 cup frozen/fresh peas

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl combine all ingredients for chicken Marinade, add chicken thighs & mix until well coated. Let it rest for atleast 1 hour.
  • Wash and soak basmati for 1 hour 
  • In a heavy bottom pan add oil & fry the chicken pieces until golden brown on both sides for 7+8 minutes on each side.
  • In the same pan add whole spices & Onion. Fry until onion just changed it colour.
  • Add Ginger Garlic paste, salt, chicken tikka masala & garam masala powder. Fry for 30 seconds.
  • Add chopped coriander mint leaves, green chillies & peas. Fry for 1 minute on low flame.
    Add hot water & bring it to a boil.
  • Add soaked rice and cook until water dries. Add fried chicken pieces on top, cover & cook on low flame for 10-12 minutes. Serve hot with raita .
