Qeema Samosa

A Samosa is a traditional Indian hand pie/snack that is made with either a Vegetable filling or a Meat filling. These Easy Qeema Samosas with Spring Roll Wrappers are a quick appetizer. The best part is that if you are health-conscious and don’t want Samosa fried, you can just bake or air-fry and enjoy lower calorie samosas.

Ingredients
  

For Qeema Filling

  • 500 gm Mince Beef or Mince Mutton/Chicken
  • 1&1/4 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chilly Powder
  • 1 tbsp Ginger & Garlic Paste
  • 1 large Onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Coriander Leaves finely chopped
  • 15 pieces Mint leaves finely chopped
  • 6-8 pieces Green Chilies finely chopped
  • 1&1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1&1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice

For Samosa

  • 20 pieces All purpose Spring Roll Sheets thawed
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 1-2 tbsp Water
  • 5 cups Oil for frying

Instructions
 

For Qeema Filling

  • Heat a pan, add washed Mince Meat and Cook on medium flame for 10min.
  • Add Salt, Turmeric, Red chilly powder, Ginger Garlic paste, Garam masala powder & mix well.
  • Cover & let it cook until water dries completely & Meat is tender.
  • Now switch off the flame and add in chopped onion, Chopped coriander & mint, leaves, chopped Green chillies, Coriander powder, Cumin powder and Lemon juice. Mix well until well combined & cool completely. Filling is ready.

Folding and Filling the Samosa

  • Step 1: Fold by placing 1 corner on the opposite corner (making it a triangle shape).
  • Step 2: Fold 2 corners of the triangle to make triangular pocket for filling as shown in pictures.
  • Step3: Now add 1-2tbsp of the prepared filling into the pocket.
  • Step 4: Fold both front upper part towards inside the pocket
  • Step 5: Fold back both upper part towards front side in order to seal the filling inside the triangular shaped samosa. See pictures for more clear visual clarity.
  • Repeat this process with all of the wrappers.
  • Now Fry the triangles in the medium hot oil and fry for 2 to 3 minutes per side, until golden brown. 
  • Remove from oil and takeout on a paper towel.
  • Serve hot with mint chutney & ketchup.

Notes

If the spring roll sheet is not in a perfect sqaure shape, then cut into a perfect Square to make perfect triangular Samosa.
