Chatpata Mirch Pakora
It is spicy, tangy and perfect savory snack recipe made with green chillies. It is most popular deep fried snack specially in North Karnataka. These pakoras can be served for evening snacks and also as appetizer during Ramadan.

- 12 Long Non Spicy Mirchi Green Chillies
- 1 cup Besan (chickpea flour)
- 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
- 3/4 tsp Red Chilly Powder
- 2 pinch Ajwain (carom seeds)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup water
For stuffing
- 3 tbsp Sesame Seeds dry roasted
- 3-4 tbsp Tamarind Chutney
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp Red Chilly Powder
- 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
- 2-3 tbsp Besan or chick pea flour
To prepare the batter, In a bowl add Besan, salt ,red chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and Ajwain and mix well.
Pour water little by little to get the right consistency . it should be perfect to just coat the chilly properly when dunked in the batter. Mix well and keep aside for 10min while preparing stuffing.
To prepare the stuffing dry roast the Sesame seeds on low flame and cool completely.
Make a fine powder in a dry mixer grinder. Set aside.
In a bowl add sesame seed powder, salt, red chilly powder and coriander powder. Mix well. Add tamarind chutney and mix well.
Now add in Besan little by little to get the perfect consistency.
Wash and pat dry the chillies with a clean towel (make sure to use the less spicy chillies).
Slit them in the center length wise, remove the seeds carefully and keep aside.
Heat Oil in pan for deep frying
Now take a small spoon and open up the slit gently and add stuff the prepared mixture, repeat the process and stuff all chillies carefully
Now dip these chillies completely in prepared batter and coat them evenly.
Gently slide it in the hot oil and fry till light golden on medium flame. Takeout on a paper towel.
For extra crispyness fry these chillies again in the same oil for 1-2 minutes and serve immediately.
