For Chicken marinade
- 4-5 Chicken thighs
- 2 tbsp thick full fat whisked yoghurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp Ginger & Garlic Paste
- 1&1/2 tbsp chicken tikka masala
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp Green Cardamom powder
- 1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chili Powder
For Pulao
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1&1/2 cup basmati rice
- 1 small onion sliced
- 1 bay leaf tej patta
- 4 cloves loung
- 2 Green Cardamom hari ilaichi
- 1 Black Cardamom badi ilaichi
- 2 Cinnamon Stick dalchini
- 1 tsp Caraway Seed Shahjeera
- 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander & Mint leaves
- 1 tbsp Ginger & Garlic Paste
- salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- 1 tsp Chicken Tikka Masala
- hot water to cook rice
- 1/2 cup frozen/fresh peas
In a bowl combine all ingredients for chicken Marinade, add chicken thighs & mix until well coated. Let it rest for atleast 1 hour.
Wash and soak basmati for 1 hour
In a heavy bottom pan add oil & fry the chicken pieces until golden brown on both sides for 7+8 minutes on each side.
In the same pan add whole spices & Onion. Fry until onion just changed it colour.
Add Ginger Garlic paste, salt, chicken tikka masala & garam masala powder. Fry for 30 seconds.
Add chopped coriander mint leaves, green chillies & peas. Fry for 1 minute on low flame.Add hot water & bring it to a boil. Add soaked rice and cook until water dries. Add fried chicken pieces on top, cover & cook on low flame for 10-12 minutes. Serve hot with raita .
